About Us
Universal Engineering and DeVlieg Microbore® (Micro-Adjust) have been providing innovative and cost cutting solutions for over 70 years to the machine tool industry. We were original pioneers in tool holding and high precision boring and presetting solutions. Specials are still a main part of our manufacturing and focus. We have over 32,000 active part numbers and over 10,000 standard items. This allows us to provide tooling solutions unmatched in this industry complemented with a technical support staff second to none.
The advantage of being "original pioneers" and having manufactured special tooling for over 70 years is that we have built just about every configuration imaginable. This gives us the experience necessary to provide working solutions the first time!

History
Universal Engineering was founded originally in 1926 and was eventually part of Houdaille Industries located on Main Street in Frankenmuth, Michigan. DeVlieg Microbore® was founded in 1935 and was part of DeVlieg Machine Company on Fair Street in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Universal Engineering and DeVlieg Microbore® were merged in 1988 at the Universal Engineering site on Main Street in Frankenmuth, Michigan. The name of the company was changed to Tooling Systems Division (TSD) (www.toolingsystems.com)
a division of DeVlieg Bullard Inc.
In January 2005, Mistequay Group, Ltd. (www.mistequaygroup.com)
acquired Universal Engineering and DeVlieg Microbore® product lines.
In November 2005, Universal / DeVlieg LLC was formed to provide individual attention to the products and services this operating division of Mistequay Group offers.
Microbore® is now the registered trademark of Microbore Tooling Systems Ltd.
